Visitor & Scholar Program

Visitors come to the EMBL for the purpose of doing research in collaboration with the EMBL staff or pursuing their own research, taking advantage of the EMBL environment. Scientists may come to receive advanced training in a specific area, or they may participate in long-term collaborations.

Collaborative Training Programs

EMBL established the EMBL International PhD Program in 1993 and has had the right to award its own PhD since 1997. Programs that support and benefit from EMBL's philosophy are considered on a case-by-case basis for inclusion as a 'Collaborative Training Program'. They are in general modelled on the successful EMBL International PhD Program, but are operated independently from EMBL.
