Dr Bin (Ben) Wang has a keen interest in cell signalling and protein trafficking research in different disease models. His current interest is on the signalling pathways involved in protein networks of the organelle function, and their association with neuron diseases.

From 2012-2015, Dr Bin (Ben) Wang did PhD.D. research with Professor Peter Gunning at UNSW in Sydney, investigating the mechanism of actin cytoskeleton-binding protein tropomyosin in regulating cell proliferation in a transgenic mouse model and validating tropomyosin as a therapeutic target in the treatment of melanoma.

Subsequently, he did post-doctoral research at Nanyang Technology University in Singapore to dissect the novel role of a G protein associated protein in the Hedgehog signalling pathway and basal cell carcinoma. He joined SAHMRI at 2017, working with A/Professor Pirjo Apaja's group.

His current interest lies in the signalling pathways involved in protein networks of the organelle function, and their association with neuron diseases.
