Development and plasticity of neuronal circuits in the primate brain.

Claire Warner completed doctoral studies at the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute, Monash University under Associate Professor James Bourne. During her PhD, she investigated the thalamic control of visual cortical maturation and how perturbations early in development can lead to altered connectivity between the visual cortex and subcortical areas. This work has provided a framework for understanding the mechanisms responsible for greater sparing of visual and visuomotor performance after early lesions of the primary visual brain.
