The international biotech community will gather in Melbourne, Australia from 24 – 27 October 2016 for three major biotech conferences in one week . The International Biotechnology Symposium (IBS 2016) is the signature event of the three conferences at which more than 1,000 participants congregate from academia and industry to explore the advances and frontiers of science and applied biotechnologies. This will be the first time the IBS conference has been hosted in the Southern hemisphere.

The IBS 2016 program will present the most advanced issues in biotechnology and related fields by an outstanding field of international and local speakers.. Topics will include agri-business, industrial and environmental biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical and molecular, bioenergy and bio-refinery, the bio-economy, policy and investment andbiosensors and nanotechnology.

IBS 2016 will be held as one of three major events that together make up the International BioFest 2016, Australia’s largest-ever gathering of the life sciences. The International BioFest 2016 also includes:

AusBiotech 2016, Australia’s flagship life sciences conference; and

Australia Biotech Invest 2016, Australia’s life sciences investment and partnering showcase.
